Description

Cala Bella Dona is a small and secluded cove located next to the Sol de Mallorca urbanization, in the municipality of Calviá, in the southwest of the island

It’s a small sandy area almost 30 m long and up to 10 m wide, flanked by small rocky formations. The usually calm waters reflect the greenery growing near its edges.

Access to the beach is through a stone staircase about 200 m long

It’s not challenging, as it doesn’t have much slope, but one must be cautious with small children, and it’s certainly not suitable for people with mobility issues.

The beach has fine sand and a gentle slope, constituting the mouth of a small stream

The protection provided by the small cliffs flanking it and the seagrass plain offshore ensures the presence of sand on this small beach. Occasionally, during storms, the water may be somewhat cloudy and seagrass remnants may wash ashore, but the presence of this plant signifies good water quality.

Cala Bella Dona is also known as caló de la Bella Dona, caló de sa Nostra Dama, and caló de sa Dona Morta

And with less poetic names like caló des Suro (cork) and caló de ses Paparres (ticks), it’s a beach where nudity is commonly practiced and much quieter than the well-known and nearby Playa del Mago.

The rocks on its left margin can serve as a natural sunbathing area for those who prefer lying in the sun without the bother of sand
